Maybe a trip to the mountains would be special. If he likes fishing he could trout fish in the Rocky Broad River or fish in Lake Lure. The gas/grocery store across the lake in Lake Lure has fishing licenses and bait. Maybe he likes to hike and enjoy nature which he can do in Chimney Rock Park or along the trail near the Hickory Nut Chamber of Commerce in Lake Lure. Maybe he would enjoy staying at a motel sitting on a deck and watch the river flow by. There are places to eat, drink, and listen to music nearby.
